Charge of the Dark Goddess, Hecate
I am the Queen of Magick, hidden in the deepest night.
I am the mystery of the other world and the fear that coils
about your heart in the times of your trial. I am the soul of
nature that gives form to the Universe.
My torches light the way for enlightenment and illumination.
My sickle of death cuts away things that are dead & no longer needed
It is I who awaits you at the end of your spiral dance.
I am She who has no secrets but a thousand secrets.
I am the aged Old Crone of Darkness who face of death
portends life anew and filled with Luna's secrets.
All acts of magick and mysteries are my rituals and
My greatest ritual is love itself.
You who seek to remove My veil and know My true face,
Know that all your questing and efforts are for not,
Until thy own face beholds and knows the mysteries of they own self.
For you to truly know Me, you must look in your own heart
and know and accept thy self.
For those of you who call upon Me
and My powers for magick, beware!
For My magick is swift and without regards to the consequences.
Those that know Me shall glide safely through troubles,
For it is My dark cloak of protection that is wrapped about you.
Close your eyes My child and call to me, for I am there,
within your Darkness.

I am a Third Degree, Elevated High Priestess in the Gardnerian/Alexandrian tradition of Wicca. I have been practicing Paganism and Witchcraft for a number of years....too many for me to acknowledge! Although I have earned the title of High Priestess in the highest level of the Wiccan tradition, and the years it took me to get there, I am more Witch than anything else and no longer call myself Wiccan, as according to the Oxford Dictionary, Wicca is a male term. I also do not follow the Wiccan religion because of its male emphasis on the Sun God and a religion entitled with a male name when it is a Goddess religion. I am simply a Witch and Pagan. I have never regretted the many years of training which I received as an initiated Wiccan. I also took many workshops in the arts of magick and its symbolism, ritual work, divination, etc.
I am also High Priestess of my own coven entitled Hecate's Cauldron which is centered in Maryland. Because I am an initiated Wiccan of the highest degree; I am able to initiate others into the Craft.
I follow the Moon and perform moon rituals. I celebrate the true Celtic Sabbats which Gardner calls the four Greater Sabbats. What I mean by "celebrate" is that I do not do any kind of formal ritual for the Sabbats, as I feel yesteryear's pagans did more of celebrations and gathered together and celebrated rather than attending formal rituals. The pagans lived very simple lives and were farmers who depended on the land and worked very hard just as my husband is a farmer and depends on the land and Mother Nature.
I am a tarot reader by profession and take my tarot reading seriously, meaning that I believe in my work and try to help seekers who come to me as much as possible by suggestions and recommendations. I live each day the path of a Witch and consult my Tarot and Crystal Ball. I am dedicated to the Goddess and each month, whether the Moon be full or dark, I perform a ritual on Her behalf.
I am moderator/owner of a very successful Yahoo Group in which Witches join and share in comradery, the Goddess and magick.
Because of my love for birds of prey, I am also a licensed falconer. In the U.S., by federal law, you have to be licensed. What does it mean to be a licensed falconer, you ask? It means many hours of studying and then passing a written test which is not the easiest test and going through other Federal and State regulations. It means trapping a hawk either in the mountains, which I did, or along the roadside. It means spending four or more hours a day with a newly trapped hawk for at least one month and then two hours a day after they are flying free during hunting season, as these birds are not pets. We train them to accept us and to allow us to go with them when they hunt and assist them in the hunt. They learn to follow us, as they soon realize that we help flush the prey out. After that, it is in their talons!
It takes a lot of training, dedication and working with an immature Redtail Hawk. An immature hawk is one whom is born in late spring and is considered a passage, as it is going through its first passage in life. We are allowed to trap an immature redtail hawk because 80 percent of first-year born hawks do not make it. They are either killed by motor vehicles or die a terrible death through the means of starvation. Once they make it through their most difficult year, they are considered a haggard (hag) and falconers are not allowed to trap them, as they are considered breeding material. However, the average haggard hawk lives only five years or so. A falconer's hawk, because it is taken care of and eats well, lives to the age of 20 or so.
